“The evidence proves that the defendant is guilty of corruption collectively,” presiding judge Tahsin said in the court’s verdict. The court also ordered Dahlan to either pay a fine of Rp 1 million or serve another two months in prison.
Prosecutors, who began investigating Dahlan’s case in 2015, earlier sought a fine of Rp 750 million for him. They also demanded that Dahlan pay Rp 4.1 billion in compensation to the government.
Dahlan said he will appeal the verdict. “I’ve discussed it with my defense team, I will file an appeal.”
